This week’s run was a special one, coinciding with a birthday and a couple of anniversaries.
The hashers gathered on a slightly overcast morning at Bar Las Delicias in Lubrin, ready for a run or a walk. Slot Machine tried to kidnap a puppy, Queenfisher received a rousing rendition of Happy Birthday, and introductions were made for a couple of virgins and returning hashers.
Hares Kingfisher and Queenfisher opened the circle by describing the way marks, describing the route and announcing a drink stop (Woot!) part of the way around the route.
Off the runners went, up and down hills and through the town – and by the state of most of them when we all gathered at the end, it was a pretty strenuous run. Prickly Tits came back a dodgy shade of purple, while a couple of the fellas described it as the toughest hash yet.
The walkers had it much easier, however, although there one or two “bastard hills” in the words of Non-Cents.
Both the runners and walkers were treated to some stunning views in such a beautiful location although all were disappointed at the state of Lubrin’s picnic area which had piles of litter despite the presence of multiple rubbish bins. Shame on you Lubrin council for not sorting this out. According to residents, the litter has been there for at least a couple of weeks.
There was indeed a drink stop, with a tot of limoncello and cup of water for the sweaty hashers… all while being entertained by a lonely goatherd – not that his one goat needed much herding.
After the sweaty crew all returned, there was a closing circle, overseen by visiting hasher Doggy… resplendent in his pinny. This time, everyone took a turn for a down-down with punishments and celebrations.
A warm welcome to the newly christened Spray-on and Arsenip. See you next year guys!
After the closing circle, a number of hashers returned to Bar Las Delicias for tapas and superb menu del dia. Those of us that stayed until the end were also treated to some pole-dancing from one of the local abuelas.
Another super hash – here’s to the next one… Llano del Espino, hosted by hares Slot Machine and Key Fob
Hashers that are attending the Christmas Hash Bash can now pay and there are also a few spaces left if anyone wants them. Plus a bumper €450 is being put towards it from Hash Cash.
Hares are needed for various dates in the coming months. Please see Key Fob to get yourselves booked in.
Puff has plenty of haberdashery and will be putting in a new order soon – get in touch if there is something special you’d like.
